Why the 30Ah SCiB Bank Works in an 8K Build
Big bass hits pull current hard and fast. Steve’s 30Ah SCiB bank gives the Evolution Audio 8K a strong current reserve to help keep voltage up when the system is being pushed.
The 3Ah Toshiba SCiB cells are rated at 40C continuous discharge, giving this 30Ah bank 1,200A of continuous discharge capability. It is not a magic amplifier-wattage claim — alternator output, charging voltage, cable size, grounds and fusing still make a huge difference.
Steve has also added an active balancer, voltage display, DC-to-DC charging and home charging, so the bank can be monitored and kept ready for the next session.
